PODER
We delivered a state-of-the-art learning center and corporate office for Chicago's immigrant community overcoming budget constraints and achieving minority business requirements.
CHALLENGES
The project faced significant challenges during the construction phase including meeting minority business requirements. This proved difficult due to delays in reporting from contractors which negatively impacted available funds, budget and timeline.
SERVICES
We provided comprehensive pre-construction services procuring the architect and general contractor, coordinating the teams, engaging with elected officials, and conducting regular update meetings to maintain transparency and progress. Our expertise also extended to establishing the project budget and timeline, as well as assisting subcontractors with payment, change orders, invoicing, and schedules of values.
OUTCOMES
The facility was successfully renovated and expanded with a 1-story addition, providing a state-of-the-art learning center and corporate office for PODER. The project also complied with state-required regulations for contractor procurement and met the minority business participation requirements for the city grant, ensuring equitable opportunities. The new facility now serves as a valuable resource for Chicago's immigrant population, empowering them with academic tools and enhancing their integration into the community.
